LION FOUNDATION RESCUE Overview

LION Foundation Rescue is a 15.15m search and rescue catamaran built by Q-West Boat Builders in 2014 for Auckland Coastguard Incorporated.  

The main function of the vessel is martime search and rescue, however it will also be used for the following:

  • Assist and/or tow damaged or disabled vessels
  • Transport of sick and injured persons
  • Support of aerial operations
  • Promotion of boating safety
  • Surveillance operations
